Employee Spotlight February 2012

Kathy_steel

Kathy Steel was born and raised by the mountains and lakes of far Northern California.  She loved being a tomboy and had a deep attachment to her horses.  She later ended up living in West Yellowstone, Montana, one of the happiest periods of her life.  After 15 years, still firmly rooted to her farming blood, Kathy sought a better climate for roses and found it here in Idaho.  She has one son who settled in Kansas, too far to visit often, but she’d love a trip this fall.

“Stinker has gotten into my blood as deep as gardening, the best “outfit” I’ve ever worked for.  Traveling between stores is a huge bonus; bald eagles, yodel pups, stunning sunrises, lush river valleys, cold full moons.  Idaho is truly beautiful in any season when I can witness the changes firsthand.”

“The  wonderful “Stinker” people I work with are as varied as the state and I’ve made lasting friends.  Counting every day seems boring to people but not when I can see the whole picture; new stores; new crew and lets not mention the weather.”

“Stinker Stores is my adopted family and I love greeting new hires, saying ‘Welcome Aboard’.”

Kathy has been with Stinker since September 1998.  She travels from store to store doing inventory audits.  She is a huge asset to Stinker and played a big role in the recent store acquisitions.  Thanks for doing a great job Kathy!
